A fantastic movie about perseverance and survival in the face of relentless external forces. Tense and very satisfying with fantastic performances all round.

You'll laugh, you'll be scared, you'll laugh again, you'll be scared again... etc.
Manages to pull off numerous false moves - great performances, great movie. Threads the needle of Comedy and Horror perfectly.

In ep 23. Jon gives it a minimum 7/10, and much more if you change your scoring system. So, take from that what you will. Definitely worth a watch for the lead performance alone!

A found footage British horror like combines folklore ideas with religious overtones. An absolute cracker that builds tension and does not let you down with a unique tone and satisfyingly horrific payoff. A horror for fans with a taste for the unusual and a love of folklore.

Solid South Korean supernatural period piece dealing with that old staple of the genre; a vengeful female spirit. Great performances lend a real sense of weight to support the strong visuals and grounded sense of place. A good watch for any fans of Asian cinema or the paranormal.

A low-key American indie horror wrapped around a simple premise; if a member of your family told you they had trapped the Devil, what would you think, and would you believe them? An undeniably excellent movie across the board which skilfully explores the premise with chilling results. The slow burn may put off some, but the talent on show will reward viewers looking for a dark and unsettling experience.

In the swamps surrounding New Orleans, the disquieted spirit of Victor Crowley stirs to wreak havoc on all who cross his path. Acting as both a sequel and a soft reintroduction, this latest movie in the Hatchet series delivers on the same extreme violence and big laughs that the series is known for. Wince inducing kills and great characters make this a pleasure for any horror fan.

This Brazilian supernatural movie tells the story of a mortician who can commune with the dead. What begins as a solid ghost story builds into something much more macabre, combining the narrative style of gothic horror with the cultural tensions of Brazil. A movie for world horror fans.

Technically not a Horror movie in the purest sense, but Gary Oldman shuffling on his knees is horrific enough to have made it into Episode 5 of Let's Make A Horror Movie Podcast... so, it's in the list.

On Netflix only at this point, but for my money (Dave) this is the best martial arts flick around.. beating prior favourites from Ong Bak & Warrior King, to both Raid movies and beyond. Much as i love them all. Its just great.

A Turkish surreal horror film which drags its characters through hell as five police officers experience things beyond their comprehension. An honest to goodness nightmare of a movie in the best possible sense. In lesser hands, the idea may have overwhelmed the movie, but the combination of great performances, startling visuals and powerful soundtrack make this one to watch. One for the horror fans as it features concepts and visions that will not be for everyone.

It is a blood splattered Australian movie about a massive boar killing folk and facing off against Nathan Jones of WWE fame. Your reaction to that synopsis will tell you if this is the movie for you. Personally, we here at LMAHMPod enjoyed every daft gory moment of it.

An American adaptation of the Lovecraft classic, where a family must contend with a cosmic horror which defies all comprehension. Featuring Nicholas Cage at his best, this is the best Lovecraft based movie we have seen in decades. Although the surrealism and nightmarish turns of the story may put off some, horror fans will find lots to love here.

A pacy, thrill ride of a movie, full of laughs and grimaces... not one to miss. Dare I say, one for all the family! ..i mean, c'mon, they can't stay kids forever right.

Phenomenal performances all round in this one. Just great.

A solid variant on The Shadow Over Innsmouth by Lovecraft and has some horrific sequences in it. Also does the 'hotel' scenes phenomenally well. Great

This South Korean horror movie tells the story of a small rural town beset by horrific murders and the local Police Officer attempting to stop them. The less you know before going into this movie, the better, but suffice to say it is a firm favourite here at LMAHMPod. Disturbing and mystifying with every turn, this truly is one of the best modern horrors’ movies out there. Not for the faint of heart but certainly for everybody else!

An absolute stormer of a Horror Movie..
British, set in a grand old house. That is all - watch it!

Great performances, some very grizzly twists, kept me guessing. Highly recommended.

Two young men find themselves at odds with a local town when a tragedy occurs on their hunting trip in this Scottish Thriller. A masterclass in tension with performances that mark this movie out as one of the best British movies in the last few years. This will appease horror and thriller fans alike with the suffocating sense of unease that permeates every second of this belter.

A cracking adaptation of a Stephen King story. Well worth a watch.

An American horror comedy about a young woman who loses her virginity and finds herself with an unusual pregnancy. It will make you chuckle and has some squirm inducing moments, but essentially it is just a god damn likable movie. A movie for everyone this one, particularly if you want something gore soaked but fun.
